Re-painted objects, taken from its own reality and made more soft so that the Work gives room for multiple associations. This is what makes Claes Oldenburg one of the main role of the Pop Art. Antonella Rutigliano with her work, a series of Art Works entitled “Cover me”, revisits this period of time, the conceptualist Pop Art. With it she brings into evidence elements that have become commonplace in the everyday life, because of the frenzy of its consuetude. As in a waiting room most of the time the cover of a fashion magazine banked up ina pile may appear banal to our own eyes, on this subject theartist intervention convulse the essence of this elements, in order to draw more attention on behalf of the user. The same methodology underlines the re-born of the object seen in a new form. The cover in question has first been painted with acrylic colors to nullify and to cover some details while underlying and focusing on others, in harmony with the personal perception of the Artist. After that, the cover has been re-printed into a bigger formats, into a poster in order that the user can feel him/her-self embraced into the extension of the space of the Work of Art becoming part of the Work. The link of her Works is the female figure: before seen as an object in a simple cover, after seen as an overtaking subject in a Work of Art. Her poetry is synthesized in the same title COVER ME – cover me -(but also COVER – as the cover of an object); this expression makes us understand that her Works are some kind of an autobiography; are the outcome of the research of a space all of itself, it appears like if she finds her place in the inside of a box or even better, of a room, where she brings in her every thought and her way of observing the world, and where she express herself verbally and in a gestural way, looking to find herself. This is a space where the past and present of her artistic narrative are meeting in a new dimension.
